Here is the honest version of ours: Phoenix Landing is a small private ridge with just five cabins, set back from the road with wooded buffers between each one. From your deck you see mountains, not your neighbor's hot tub. You will not hear the Parkway, and at night the only light pollution is the faint glow of downtown two miles below — far enough that the stars stay out.

What it is not: a 45-minute drive up a single-lane gravel road. That version of seclusion sounds romantic until you need groceries, dinner reservations, or a 9 AM trailhead start. Our cabins sit five minutes from downtown Gatlinburg and about eight minutes from the national park entrance — you get the silence without the logistics tax.
